Elana Schramm 
Assistant to Rabbi Watstein and Executive Director Shai Habosha
Elana is originally from Montreal where she attended McGill University. She relocated to Pembroke Pines 38 years ago. Elana has a son named Jake, who is 26. Her professional background has ranged from working as a Hebrew teacher, Secretary, and Director of Membership at a Temple in Plantation. She is very happy to be here at B’nai Aviv and looks forward to meeting everyone soon, please stop in and say hello.
Alan Silverberg 
Marketing, Communications, and Program Manager
Alan is originally from the Detroit Metropolitan area. After moving to Florida in the early 90’s, Alan completed his education, graduating with honors from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Fine Art, with a concentration in Graphic Design and Advertising.
Judaism was a very integral part of Alan’s upbringing. His family was actively involved with their synagogue for many years. Both his mother and step-father served as Presidents of their synagogue, The Birmingham Temple, where Alan had his Bar-Mitzvah, Confirmation, and Wedding.
Over the course of his career, Alan worked in Jewish non-profit for over 12 years at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC in North Miami Beach where he was the Director of Marketing and Communications, and at a large conservative congregation in Boca where he was the Communications and PR Director. Alan is a graphic designer, and has also worked in television, radio, video production, and photoshoot direction.
Before moving to Florida, Alan met his wife, Beth. Shortly thereafter they got married and continued to reside in Florida. They currently reside in Hollywood Beach Florida and will be celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary this month.
Alan is happy to be part of the B’nai Aviv family. He looks forward to bringing his years of experience, expertise and skill-sets to help the organization continue to grow, prosper, and bring unique and engaging programming to our community.

Administrative Assistant - Religious School
Cookie has been at B’nai Aviv for over 22 years. She loves watching our children grow from Kindergarten through B’nai Mitzvah and enjoys when they stop in to say Hello when they visit from college. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family, especially her granddaughters.
Sherry Springer
Adminstrative Assistant/Early Childhood & Camp
Sherry is originally from Boston area. She moved down to Florida 7 years ago. Sherry started off working in the preschool department, our religious school and our youth department. She loves working with children. Her professional background ranges from retail to becoming a teacher. She loves working at B’nai Aviv.
